The purpose of the School Parliament is for young people to talk about things that relate to their school, their education and any other matter that concerns them.
School Parliament members are elected from the Year Councils and Year Council representatives are voted for by their form class.
In the academic year 2016-
The School Parliament meets regularly during the year to discuss a range of topics. There are 10 scheduled meetings this year.
Within the last year they have -
suggested introducing First Aid training into PSE lessons – Year 10 are receiving First Aid lessons this year in response to this request,
spoken in assemblies,
been consulted regarding school policies,
met with School Governors,
met the Senior Transport Officer for the Vale of Glamorgan and discussed issues with school transport,
met Jane Hutt (AM) and Sally Holland – Children’s Commissioner for Wales to discuss Children’s Rights,
attended School Council training offered by The Vale of Glamorgan Youth Service,
visited Stanwell School to meet their School Council and have a tour of the school,
met with Vale of Glamorgan Council workers to discuss opinions on Co-

collated a survey from pupils about the school canteen,
met with staff about the new Digital Competency Framework,
produced a newsletter for pupils
